1. What we use
We keep this deliberately small. There are two categories, and only one of them is optional.

A note on the first entry: pfm-cookie-consent is not strictly a cookie. It
is stored in your browser's local storage, which means it never travels to our server:
it only exists on your device, and we cannot read it. We list it here because it does
the job people expect a cookie banner to describe.
2. Analytics cookies are off until you accept
Google Analytics is not loaded when you arrive. The script is only added to the page after you choose Accept analytics. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is ever set.
We use analytics to see which pages are read and how people arrive at the site. We do not use it to identify individuals.
3. What we don't use
We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies, no social media pixels and no retargeting tags. We do not sell or share data with advertising networks.
4. Changing your mind
Use the link in the footer of any page. It shows your current choice and lets you change it.
If you switch from accepted to declined, we delete the Google Analytics cookies already on your device and reload the page, so analytics genuinely stops rather than merely being switched off for future visits.
We will ask again after 12 months, or sooner if we materially change how analytics is used.
5. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "do not track" or private browsing mode. Blocking all cookies and storage will mean we cannot remember your choice, so the banner will reappear on each visit.
